DELE – DIPLOMA OF SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE, LEVEL C2

The DELE accreditation for level C2 advanced, is an official diploma provided by the Institute of Cervantes. It is recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and proves the ability and knowledge of the Spanish language at this level. The exam consists of five different parts: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing, speaking, grammar and vocabulary in Spanish.

A Spanish student with level C2 uses the language with great ability. He or she is able to write coherent texts with Spanish phrases, using the appropriate linking words and structures. The students are able to express their feelings with different connotations and they know how to use the varied grades of formality of the language. The students with level C2 are capable of using all verb tenses in Spanish correctly, just like a native speaker. They can tell a succession of events in the past with no difficulty.

As well, they are supposed to know technical terms related to various topics. They can recognize their own mistakes in pronunciation, and other’s, and they can correct them. At this level, every student is able to speak fluent Spanish with accuracy, being aware of the different registers and their meanings. They can recognize the various types of Castilian which are spoken in Spain.

This diploma proves the student’s linguistic competence to cope with situations which require an advanced knowledge of the language and of the social and cultural aspects.

You can take the DELE level C2 exam in the following Spanish centers in Castile and León: University of Burgos (Faculty of Economics), in the Language and Cultural Spanish Courses section of the University of León; International Courses of the University of Salamanca; in the Language Centre and Continuing Education section and Courses for Foreigners of the University of Valladolid.
