DELE - Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera

The DELE exam or Spanish as a foreign language diploma is the official accreditation recognized by the Ministry of Education in Spain, that demonstrates that a person manages and competent in the Spanish Language.

There are many courses aimed to help foreign students pass each level of this test. The DELE is divided into 4 levels, depending on the level of knowledge that the person has of Spanish:
 

• DELE A1, certifies that the person has enough knowledge of Spanish to understand and use familiar everyday expressions. This level consists of 4 tests with different exercises, which explore the basics for speaking Spanish anywhere in the world where Spanish is spoken.
• DELE B1 (Beginner Spanish), certifies that a person has the skills and knowledge necessary to understand and respond adequately in Spanish to most common situations of daily life and for expressing desires and needs. This level consists of 5 different tests: reading comprehension, writing, listening, grammar and Spanish vocabulary and oral expression.
• Dele B2 – (Intermediate Spanish), certifies that a person has the skills and knowledge in Spanish necessary to manage ordinary situations of everyday life in normal communicative circumstances, which do not require specialized knowledge of the language. This level consists of 5 tests as the level B1 except that the level of difficulty is higher.
• DELE C2 – (Advanced Spanish), certifies that a person has the skills and knowledge of Spanish necessary to handle situations requiring advanced use of Spanish and knowledge of cultural habits and expressions. Like the B2 level, the there are 5 tests that measure the advanced knowledge of the language and culture.

The DELE exam is important for all those people who are thinking of doing a university degree in any Spanish speaking country or have interest in working in a company that requires the use of Spanish. With this accreditation, the person will have no problem when he or she applies to a job or University. In Castilla y Leon, there are several institutions accredited that administer the test:
